About the Skill
The FreshBooks Assistant Alexa skill allows you to manage your FreshBooks account effortlessly using voice commands. You can check invoice statuses, receive business summaries, track time, and much more—hands-free.
Getting Started
- Enable the Skill
To start using the FreshBooks Assistant, you'll need to enable it in your Alexa app or through the Alexa Skills Store.
- Link Your FreshBooks Account
After enabling the skill, you'll need to link your FreshBooks account. Follow the prompts in your Alexa app to complete the account linking process.
- Start Using Voice Commands
Once your account is linked, you can start using voice commands by saying: "Alexa, ask FreshBooks..."

- Checking Balances
- "What's my current balance?"
- "How much money do I have outstanding?"
- "What's my total revenue this month?"
- Invoice Management
- "Are there any overdue invoices?"
- "How many unpaid invoices do I have?"
- "What's the status of my recent invoices?"

- "Start tracking time for [project name]"
- "Stop tracking time"
- "How much time have I tracked today?"
Tips and Best Practices
Speak clearly and use the suggested command phrases for best results
Wait for the blue light ring to appear before speaking
If Alexa doesn't understand, try rephrasing your request
Check that your FreshBooks account is properly linked if you encounter issues
